The MSU debate team enjoys a long history of success, including two national championship victories during this decade. Please read below to find out more information on our recent history.

2 National Championship Victories this Decade!!

Each debate season culminates with the National Debate Tournament (NDT), considered by most people to be the most prestigious debate tournament of the year. Teams must qualify to attend, and less than seventy two-person teams attend each year.

MSU won the NDT for the first time in 2004, and won again in 2006. These victories place MSU in the company of some of the most prestigious academic institutions in the nation, including Northwestern University, Emory University, Wake Forest University, Dartmouth College, and Harvard University.
