2024 MSU Debate Reunion
Join us in East Lansing May 17-18, 2024
MSU Debate is celebrating two important milestones – it’s the 20th anniversary of team’s first National Debate Tournament win and Will Repko, MSU Debate Head Coach, has surpassed 25 years of service at the university. We’re excited to host you in East Lansing to reconnect and celebrate!
For your travel arrangements, we plan to have a reception and program the evening of Friday, May 17 at the Graduate East Lansing and a more casual get-together during the day on Saturday, May 18.
Friday, May 17
Friday, May 17 from 6:00-8:00pm we’ll be hosting a cocktail reception at the Graduate East Lansing in the Lemon Tree Room. There will be drinks, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and a short program to welcome the group. Children are welcome but please note that event is more formal.
Saturday, May 18
Saturday, May 18 from 11:00am-2:00pm we’ll be hosting a casual reception at Linton Hall. It will be an indoor-outdoor event so that you can see our newly remodeled office space and lunch will be catered from Woody’s Oasis. Children and families are welcome to attend.
Other lodging options that we recommend include: The Marriot East Lansing at University Place is a block from campus and and the Courtyard Lansing, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Lansing at Eastwood, TownePlace Suites by Marriott East Lansing are a short drive.
The Lansing airport (LAN) is always a great option for someone looking to rent a car or take an Uber/Lyft to campus. Detroit Metro is only ~90 minutes from East Lansing and there’s a very reliable bus service (Michigan Flyer) with WiFi that picks up at the Detroit airport and drops off at the Marriot East Lansing at University Place (also only 4 blocks from the Graduate East Lansing). The Michigan Flyer is $54 round trip and easy to use. The Flint and Grand Rapids airports are both ~60 minutes from campus and, while there’s not a convenient shuttle system, both work well for someone renting a car.
