Aadit Agrahara
Aadit is a sophomore from San Jose, CA studying Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy in the James Madison College. He debated for 4 years in high school and this is his second year debating for Michigan State.
Ephraim Bennett
Ephraim is a Junior from Lincolnwood, Illinois majoring in Computer Science. He debated for four years at Niles West High School in Skokie, Illinois. As a Spartan, Ephraim has qualified to the National Debate Tournament and won the Wayne State Tournament.
Alex Bitzan
Alex is an incoming freshman to MSU and is a member of the Honors College. He competed in policy debate for 2 years at St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio. Alex qualified to NSDA Nationals his senior year.
Tyler Buck
Tyler is a sophomore majoring in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy and African American and African Studies. He comes from Kentwood, Michigan where he debated for East Kentwood high school for 4 years and is now assistant coach.
Arielle Gearring
Arielle Gearring is a sophomore majoring in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy. She is from Chicago, Illinois where she started her debate career in the Chicago Debate League. She is going into her 5th year of debate and loves being apart of the community that MSU Debate has created and sustained.
Joanna Gusis
Joanna is a sophomore majoring in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy in James Madison College and Statistics and is a part of the Honors College. She is from Northbrook, Illinois where she attended and debated for Glenbrook North High School, and won the Illinois State Championship in 2022. Joanna is a National Debate Tournament qualifier and has regularly reached elimination rounds at tournaments.
Zaria Jarman
Zaria is a freshman from Atlanta, Georgia planning on majoring in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy at James Madison College. She debated for four years at Woodward Academy.
David Koster
David is a senior pursuing dual degrees in Economics and Political Science-Prelaw. He is a member of the MSU Honors College, a Social Science Scholar, and an Econ Scholar. In college, he has qualified to the National Debate Tournament three consecutive years, advancing to elimination debates once. He has cleared three times at American Debate Association Nationals, won the 2022 Wayne State Invitational and the 2022 Rutgers Round Robin, and is a Summa Cum Laude National Debate Scholar. In high school, he debated for Trinity Academy in Wichita, Kansas where he captained the team, won the state championship in Lincoln Douglas debate, and was 7th at NSDA nationals.
Stephen Lewis
Stephen Lewis is an incoming freshman from West Covina, California. Stephen attended Damien High School in La Verne, California where he was in late elimination rounds of most national tournaments. Stephen plans to major in journalism.
Tony Miklovis
Tony is a junior on the Michigan State Debate Team from Northbrook, Illinois. He debated at Glenbrook North High School for 4 years and has debated at Michigan State for 2. He is a member of the Honors College and is majoring in International Relations, and Social Relations and Policy in the James Madison College, in addition to economics.
Blaine Montford
Blaine Montford debated for four years at Kickapoo High School and qualified to the Tournament of Champions twice. Blaine is a Political Science major at MSU.
Mitchell Scott
Mitchell is a fourth year debater for MSU. He is majoring in economics and is from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Glen Scully
Glen Scully is a sophomore studying computer science at Michigan State. He’s from Bakersfield, California and debated four years at Stockdale High School. As a freshman, Glen was named JV Debater of the Year at the American Debate Association National Championship.
Hina Shehzad
Hina is an incoming freshman selecting a major in the James Madison College. Hina debated 4 years on the high school policy national circuit for Niles West, qualifying to the Tournament of Champions. She is from Illinois and plans on attending law school.
Miaomiao Zi
Miaomiao is a sophomore in the Honors College majoring in Interdisciplinary Humanities and English Concentration in Creative Writing. In her first year at Michigan State, Miaomiao reached the quarterfinals of the American Debate Association Fall Championship in Junior Varsity. She is from Shenzhen, China and debated one year of public forum in high school.
