Aadit Agrahara

Senior - Hometown: San Jose, CA

Aadit is a senior from San Jose, CA studying Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy in the James Madison College. He debated for four years in high school where he qualified twice to the Tournament of Champions and this is his third year debating for Michigan State.


Omar Ansari

Freshman - Hometown: Skokie, IL

Omar is a freshman majoring in Computer Science. He debated for three years at Niles West High School in Skokie, Illinois. He is part of the MSU Honors College.”


Ephraim Bennett

Senior - Hometown: Lincolnwood, IL

Ephraim is a Senior from Lincolnwood, Illinois majoring in Computer Science. He debated for four years at Niles West High School in Skokie, Illinois. As a Spartan, Ephraim has qualified to the National Debate Tournament and won the Wayne State Tournament.


Arielle Gearring

Junior - Hometown: Chicago, IL

Arielle Gearring is a Junior from Chicago, Illinois and will be entering her 6th year of debate this year. In high school, Arielle started her debate career in the Chicago Debate League. Arielle is Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy major in James Madison and has a minor in the French language.


Joanna Gusis

Junior - Hometown: Northbrook, IL

Joanna is a junior pursuing dual degrees in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy in James Madison College and Statistics in the College of Natural Science with a minor in Computer Science. She is also a part of the Honors College. She is from Northbrook, Illinois where she attended and debated for Glenbrook North High School, including winning the Illinois State Championship in 2022. Joanna earned a First Round At-Large bid to the 78th National Debate Tournament and has regularly reached elimination rounds at tournaments.


Zaria Jarman

Sophomore - Hometown: Atlanta, GA

Zaria is a sophomore from Atlanta, Georgia. She is majoring in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy at James Madison College. She plans to pick up a Public Relations major from the College of Communication Arts and Sciences in addition to her first major. She debated for four years at Woodward Academy in Atlanta. This will be her second year debating for MSU.


Stephen Lewis

Sophomore - Hometown: West Covina, CA

Stephen Lewis is an incoming sophomore at MSU, majoring in Social Relations and Policy in the James Madison College. As a freshman, Stephen qualified to the National Debate Tournament and advanced to elimination rounds. As a high school debater, Stephen was regularly in late elimination rounds of most national tournaments.


Tony Miklovis

Senior - Hometown: Northbrook, IL

Tony is a senior pursuing dual degrees in International Relations and Social Relations & Policy in the James Madison College. He is also a member of the MSU Honors College. He has qualified to the National Debate Tournament three consecutive years, advancing to elimination debates twice and qualifying as a first-round-at-large bid once. He was 9th speaker at the American Debate Association National Championship his freshman year and is a three-time octofinalist at ADA Nationals.


Blaine Montford

Sophomore - Hometown: Springfield, MO

Blaine Montford is from Missouri and debated at Kickapoo Highschool before attending and debating at Michigan State. Blaine’s high school career saw two Tournament of Champions appearances, and 9 career bids. At MSU, Blaine is a Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy major in James Madison with a minor in philosophy. Blaine enjoys reading, rock climbing, and theory.


Glen Scully

Junior - Hometown: Bakersfield, CA

Glen Scully is a junior studying computer science at Michigan State. He’s from Bakersfield, California and debated four years at Stockdale High School. As a freshman, Glen was named JV Debater of the Year at the American Debate Association National Championship.


Hina Shehzad

Sophomore - Hometown: Skokie, IL

Hina is an incoming sophomore from Skokie, IL, where she attended Niles West High School. While at Niles West, Hina debated on the national circuit four years. Hina is currently pursuing a major in International Relations with double minors in South Asian Culture and Language, and Muslim Studies. Hina loves learning about politics and law. She plans to attend law school after completing her undergraduate studies.


Miaomiao Zi

Junior - Hometown: Shenzhen, China

Miaomiao is a junior in the Honors College majoring in Interdisciplinary Humanities and English Concentration in Creative Writing. She is from Shenzhen, China and debated one year of public forum in high school. In her first year at Michigan State, Miaomiao reached the quarterfinals of the American Debate Association Fall Championship in Junior Varsity.
