Addison Morris

Freshman - Hometown: Olathe, KS

Addison Morris is a freshman at Michigan State majoring in philosophy. They are also a part of the Honors College. Previously, they debated four years at Olathe North High School, qualifying for the Tournament of Champions their senior year. After completing their undergraduate studies, Addison plans on attending law school.


Alexa DeMaria

Freshman - Hometown: Austin, TX

Alexa is an incoming freshman hoping to pursue a double major in Political Science and Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy. Alexa peviously debated at Lake Travis High School in Austin, TX.


Artie Kincaid

Freshman - Hometown: Overland Park, KS

Artie is a freshman from Overland Park, KS, who plans to major in Communicative Sciences and Disorders. He went to Shawnee Mission South High School. At SMS, he debated for four years, qualifying to the Tournament of Champions his senior year. Outside of debate, he loves reading, watching new movies, and drawing.


Balin Kimbrell

Freshman - Hometown: Berea, OH

Balin Kimbrell is an incoming Freshman from Ohio, where he attended Benedictine High School and coached at John Hays. Due to a a broken spine Balin was only able to debate for 2 years in high school, he ranked 11th nationally at the end of his Sophomore year regardless. He considers himself to be one of the best topicality debaters in the country, but is otherwise follows a mostly policy maker framework. He is a proud and devout Roman Catholic and also enjoys Magic The Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons, and other nerdy topics.


Cameron Buhl

Freshman - Hometown: Dallas, TX

Cameron is a freshman at MSU in the James Madison College, majoring in Social Relations and Policy. He is enrolled in the Honors College and previously debated for Colleyville Heritage High School for 4 years.


Eleazar Asase

Senior - Hometown: Accra, Ghana

Eleazar is a senior Mechanical Engineering major with a minor in Computer Science. He discovered policy debate at Achimota School and later dabbled in British Parliamentary rounds, fueling a love for kritiks and big‑picture philosophical clash. Now in his third season with MSU Debate, he’s most at home interrogating grand narratives—from Fanon to Latour—while keeping the flow sharp. Beyond tournaments, Eleazar prototypes energy‑efficient robotics and mentors peers as a Resident Assistant. He hopes to fuse argumentation and engineering to craft equitable tech solutions across the Global South.


Henry Martin

Sophomore - Hometown: Overland Park, KS

Henry is a sophomore from Overland Park, Kansas, where he attended Shawnee Mission South High School. While at SMS, Henry debated all four years, reaching the late elimination rounds at national tournaments. He is double majoring in Physics and Mathematics at MSU, and is also a member of the Honors College. He loves to read and learn new things. After MSU, Henry plans to attend medical school or pursue an advanced degree in physics.


Hina Shehzad

Senior - Hometown: Skokie, IL

Hina is a senior from Skokie, Illinois, majoring in International Relations. She debated for four years at Niles West High School and now competes for MSU Debate. Hina’s academic interests include international politics, law, and public policy. Outside of debate, Hina serves as a Resident Assistant, helping students navigate campus life and build community in the residence halls. Hina also work as a Research Assistant, contributing to research on race, gender, and social justice, with a particular focus on anti-Blackness. After graduation, Hina plans to attend law school and pursue a career in public service and advocacy.


Isabella Foster

Sophomore - Hometown: Olathe, KS

Isabella is a sophomore at MSU from Kansas City, Kansas. They are majoring in Philosophy with a focus on the law and minoring in Peace and Justice Studies. They are a member of the MSU Honors College. Outside of debate they enjoy reading, watching movies, and the Boston Bruins.


Neel Patel

Freshman - Hometown: Glenview, IL

Neel Patel is a freshman from Glenview, IL and debated at Glenbrook South High School with 10 career bids to the Tournament of Champions, ranked 10th on the 2025 National Coaches Poll. Neel is an International Relations major in the James Madison College.


Sàja Pearson

Junior - Hometown: Las Vegas, NV

Sàja Pearson is a rising junior from Las Vegas, Nevada, where she debated all four years of high school at Amplus Academy. She is studying Political Science Pre-Law, and minoring in Business, Public Policy, and is additionally a Bailey Scholar. Sàja plans on attending law school after completing her undergraduate studies.


Stephen Lewis

Senior - Hometown: West Covina, CA

Stephen Lewis is a senior from West Covina, California. He will be a senior at Michigan State in Fall 2026, majoring in Social Relations and Policy in the James Madison College. As a debater, Stephen has qualified to the National Debate Tournament 3 times, receiving a first round at-large bid for the past two seasons. He has advanced to deep elimination rounds at several major tournaments, most recently including a quarterfinals appearance at the 2026 National Debate Tournament. In the future, Stephen hopes to pursue a law degree and have a career as a labor and employment attorney.


Will Covington

Freshman - Hometown: Chandler, AZ

Will Covington is a freshman from Chandler, Arizona. During High School, Will did debate for all four years and loves the Kritik. Will is studying Political Science in the Honors College and hopes to attend Law School.


Will Sterbenc

Sophomore - Hometown: Skokie, IL

Will is a Sophomore from Skokie, IL, where he attended Niles North high school and debated on the national circuit for three years. Will is in the Honors College, and is currently pursuing a major in Social Relations and Policy at James Madison College. Will loves playing tennis and learning about politics and philosophy. Will plans on attending law school after completing his undergraduate studies.


Zaria Jarman

Senior - Hometown: Atlanta, GA

Zaria is a senior from Atlanta, Georgia. She attended Woodward Academy, where she competed in debate for four years before continuing her career at Michigan State University. Zaria is studying Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy at James Madison College, and she is also pursuing a minor in Public Relations. In 2026, Zaria was awarded the ADA Front Royal Cup. Outside of competition, Zaria is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and enjoys traveling in her free time. After graduation, she plans to attend law school and pursue a career in public service.
