Michigan State University Debate finished as finalists at the Wayne State Ziegelmueller Invitational this week.
Representing MSU were economics freshman Eva Farber and international journalism junior Evan Jones. They defeated teams from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, the University of Michigan, and Harvard University before being defeated in finals by the University of Kansas.
Also competing at the Ziegelmueller Invitational was the team of political theory and constitutional democracy junior Duvall Adair and social relations and policy sophomore Piper Meloche who reached the semifinals.
“We’re extremely pleased with our results at the Wayne State Tournament,” said Will Repko, head coach. “Having a team both in the finals and semifinals demonstrates how deep our talent on the team is and the students have a lot to be proud of.”
The MSU Debate team is part of the Honors College.
