“We want students to be able to get a sense of what our content will look like over the summer,” said Will Repko, MSU Debate Head Coach. “It’s important when selecting a camp that students enjoy the curriculum and instructors for that particular camp – we think the webinars let students sample what the SDI’d debate instruction will be like.”
“These lectures are a preview of what asynchronous content may look like but we’ll have other webinars that are live and simulate synchronous SDI content,” Repko said.
The SDI has been a leader in online debate competition and instruction and began beta-testing online delivery in summer of 2019.
Over the fall and spring of 2020, the SDI posted a series of webinars to continue experimenting with different formats. Those webinars covered topics like the security kritik (synchronous) and innovating your affirmative (asynchronous).
Students who are interested in the 2021 can apply online. Applications are accepted until May 17, 2021.
